BMW CHRA / cartridges
A CHRA cartridge is the heart of your turbo: the shaft with compressor and turbine wheel, supplied ready-mounted on its bearings in the centre housing. If the shaft binds or you can feel play, you swap only this core assembly and the original housings and actuator simply stay in place. Our BMW range covers the familiar diesel generations — M47/M47TU (318d and 320d E46), N47 and B47 (120d, 320d, 420d, 520d), M57/M57N and N57 (530d, 730d, X5 3.0d) — plus petrol engines such as the B48 and the 4.4 V8 N63B44 from the X5 xDrive50i. If your engine has two turbos, it is best to replace both cartridges at the same time for even boost build-up. Search by the turbo number of your old charger, for example 750431 for the 320d E46 with the M47TU engine, and the cartridge is guaranteed to fit.
