Volvo suspension

Volvo and Ford: the same platform, more choice
The S40, V50 and C30 share their platform with the Ford Focus and C-Max; many control arms, bearings and dampers therefore fit both makes — the OE number settles it. Heavy estates and SUVs also demand a lot from the rear dampers: if the car keeps bouncing with a full load, they are due for replacement. Dull thumps at the front point to control arm bushings, creaking when steering to a strut mount. Replace in axle pairs, left and right together, and align after replacing arms.
