Gas struts & hinges
Gas struts and electric tailgate struts for the Audi A5 and A7 Sportback, Skoda Karoq, Octavia and Superb, Seat Ateca, VW Passat, Tiguan and Touran, Porsche Cayenne and Panamera, BMW X6, Opel Insignia, Ford S-Max and Hyundai Tucson and i40, among others — individually or as a set, plus hinge pin tools for the Chevy Astro and others.
Tailgate sinking slowly or not staying open?
A gas strut loses pressure gradually: at first the tailgate no longer stays open in cold weather, later it sinks back even in summer. Always replace gas struts in pairs, as the other one is just as old as the failed one. On electric tailgates (power lift), the spindle drive is built into the strut itself; if the motor hums without the tailgate moving, that spindle is worn. When ordering, note left or right, the length in millimetres and the force in newtons — these are listed in our product titles.
